When it comes time to decide on a name for your organization or business, while it may be an exciting and fairly straightforward process, some thought in various areas may become very beneficial. Although an internet business does not require state licensing, it should be noted an organization name should still be created and by using the same criteria.

Strength

Does your business name have an accurate meaning to your services or products? Does it convey your message in a powerful way? It should. With this in mind and contrary to popular belief, a generic name such a "Smith Enterprises" or "Smith Global Industries" is not going to be beneficial to your business. Make it specific, or in the least creative so it can stand out in the crowd.

Domain Name

Your domain name is very important to an internet business. 

A internet business domain name should:

• Match your legal business name as much as possible
• Contain one or more keywords you will be using
• Be as short as possible while still maintaining significance
